New Venture Camp is a week-long overnight camp for youth in DSS custody facilitated by Camp Lurecrest staff which has been happening for over 25 years! Many of these campers are level 2 foster children and are unplaceable, institutional or therapeutic placement only children. This means that Camp Lurecrest is one of the few places they can experience child-like freedoms outside of institutional oversight.
Camp Lurecrest is a Christian youth residential summer camp in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in western North Carolina on Lake Lure. From September through April, Camp Lurecrest hosts retreat groups from churches, schools, and ministries. Our mission is to love God, love others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ through camping ministries.
