Here's who we are and what we believe.
For over 72 years, Camp Lurecrest has been a place of joy and belonging for countless campers. Our summer camp community on Lake Lure is relationally intentional and uniquely adventurous. We seek to embody the Gospel in an authentic and meaningful way, caring deeply about the safety of each camper.
We believe that a well-run, Christ-centered summer camp is a good experience, and also good fun; but it can be much, much more. It can be life-changing. We aim to create a physically and emotionally safe environment where campers can experience autonomy appropriate for their age – they can choose what they eat, what activities they participate in, and even what they buy at the gift shop! In chapel, they are also encouraged to think about their personal relationship with God. We encourage them to consider a faith not based on what their parents believe, but a faith of their own. And we pray that in this setting, they hear God’s voice of truth telling them who they are, whose they are, and how much they are loved. Over the years, we have seen God use this setting time and again to impact young lives in a long-lasting way.
A week can change a life!
