Swannanoa camp is named for the Swannanoa Gap. About 15 miles from Camp Lurecrest lies the Swannanoa Gap, which served as the one of the primary passes through which early settlers and Indians traveled to reach the Asheville Plateau – the dividing line between the waters that flow to the Atlantic and those that flow to the Mississippi River and into the Gulf of Mexico. Because of its strategic location and landscape, it played a significant role in both the Revolutionary and Civil wars.
As of April 8th, Swannanoa has a moderate waitlist for boys and for girls.

There's no better way to experience camp than having "Lurecrest Expert" Beck Muse as your speaker! Beck has been part of Lurecrest for over 8 years and has served in almost every aspect of the ministry. He has also spent time on staff in college student ministry with RUF at Clemson University. Beck, along with his wife Lauren and son Deacon, now lives in Lake Lure and serves as our year-round Assistant Camp Manager. He is excited to connect with our 3-day campers through sharing God's word and leading them through what for many will be their first camping experience.

Camp Lurecrest is a Christian youth residential summer camp in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in western North Carolina on Lake Lure. From September through April, Camp Lurecrest hosts retreat groups from churches, schools, and ministries. Our mission is to love God, love others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ through camping ministries.
