Thank you for checking for updates. We will continue to post updates to our health and safety standards each month on the 15th. As of today, no changes have been made to the standards that we published last month.
There is one update to share about the availability of the vaccine to our summer staff. At the end of January the CDC's Essential Workers Team of the Vaccine Implementation Task Force confirmed with American Camping Association that out-of-school time workers had been included in the Essential Workers category, putting summer camp staff on the Phase 1b priority listing. This has been corroborated by the fact that multiple of our full-time staff have already received both doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Giving our staff the option of receiving the vaccine protects camp significantly from any disruptions due to quarantining or isolation as well as protecting from camp from outbreaks that would span multiple weeks.
On a smaller note, as part of the “EH&E Field Guide for Camps on Implementation of CDC Guidance” best practice we will be asking all campers to bring a personal refillable water bottle to camp. There will be marked with the name and cabin and will be washed in the course of the week.
Check back on March 15th for additional updates!
