Because of the ever-changing nature surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are prayerfully seeking the Lord for wisdom and discernment as we make plans for the 2020 summer camp season and contingency plans if we are not able to have summer camp. We are monitoring this situation around the clock, and we are committed to maintaining a safe camp environment.
As a ministry, we are reminded that the Lord calls us to pray and act in faith, not fear. Here are some reminders from God’s Word:
I will keep my mind on the Lord: “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3)
The Lord will give me strength: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely, I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
God will not fail me: “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the only one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
God is my salvation: “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for the LORD God is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.” (Isaiah 12:2)
God is on my side: “The LORD is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” (Psalm 118:6)
We are watching the information coming from our national, state, and local governmental officials, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. State Department, and the North Carolina Division of Public Health. We encourage you to monitor information from these departments and take precautions as prescribed.
Finally, please join us in praying for Camp Lurecrest and our staff, our camper families, other camp ministries, missionaries, church leaders, and those who serve in the areas that are heavily affected by this disease.
For His Glory,
Kris Decker, Executive Director
