Camp Lurecrest’s Master Site Plan serves to take our program and ministry and suit it to our property. God gave this land to us and there is not another piece of property exactly like this on this earth. Our goal is to use and utilize every inch of our property for His service, do it wisely and properly and not “use it up”! The final product of this plan will simply show what our future plans are and “if” we continue and build all the facilities, this is where they will be located.
Our committee chairman, Don Berg, has led our Master Site Plan Committee for the past year. We have contracted with Steve Onxley, Onxley & Associates, to assist us in the process of putting the master site plan in place. Mr. Onxley will lead us in addressing our short-term needs and demands without compromising our long-term plans. We are currently in the process of finalizing the new cabin design that will serve as the prototype for all the cabins we will build. It is our intent, God willing, to remove all the “old” boys and girls’ cabins and replace them with this new design. Our thinking at present is that the new cabins will serve our summer camp needs as well as retreats for high school and college age groups. Our Adult retreats will be distinct and will have better and more comfortable sleeping and bathroom facilities. A beautiful new swimming pool with a cover over it for winter swimming is on the drawing boards as well. In the first quarter of 2006 we will have a completed video demonstrating our long term plans and Jerry will be heading up the efforts to get this out to our supporters.
