Jerry Martin
Executive Director, CLM
Jerry Martin has served as the Executive Director of Camp Lurecrest Ministries since 1997, and is the founder of Emmaus School of Biblical Studies. In addition to his executive duties, Jerry regularly teaches at Emmaus School and works closely with the Emmaus School teaching staff.

Tom Phillips
ESBS School Director
Tom Phillips is the ESBS school's Director and one its teachers. Tom has been on staff with Camp Lurecrest in several capacities since 1998. Tom holds a B.S. in Geology from Western Carolina University and is a graduate of YWAM’s DTS and SBS programs in Lakeside, Montana. In addition to his teaching duties, Tom is involved with Camp Lurecrest’s Outdoor Adventure programming and spearheads various environmental/ecological projects for the ministry. Tom and his wife, Julia, enjoy biking, camping, and rock climbing.

Katie Francis
ESBS Teaching Staff
Katie Francis is married to John Francis and they are from Richmond, VA. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Anthropology, Katie moved to Montana in order to do her DTS and then SBS at YWAM Montana in 2000-2001. Three years later, in 2004, Katie entered Seminary at Union Theological Seminary in order to learn how to read the Bible in its original languages. She eventually transferred from Union to Princeton Theological Seminary, and graduated from Princeton in 2010 with a Masters of Divinity. She has a passion for seeing people's lives change through Biblical study.

Byron & Eileen Hartzler
ESBS Teaching Staff
Byron Hartlzer is an ESBS teacher, originally from Alberta, Canada! He holds a Diploma in Biblical Studies from Columbia Bible College, Vancouver, BC, and is a graduate of YWAM’s DTS and SBS programs. Byron previously served in YWAM as a DTS leader in Turner Valley, Canada, and an SBS teacher in Lakeside, Montana. Byron is married to Eileen Hartzler and is an avid hockey fan, and enjoys camping, snowboarding, and most outdoor recreation.
Eileen Hartzler has served Camp Lurecrest Ministries in several positions since 1997. Eileen is a graduate of Youth With a Mission's (YWAM) Discipleship Training School (DTS) and School of Biblical Studies (SBS). Following graduation from SBS, she became an SBS staff member in YWAM's Lakeside, Montana SBS in order to prepare for starting the Emmaus School of Biblical Studies. Eileen is married to Byron Hartzler, and her hobbies include reading, running, and snowboarding.

Scott Pitts
ESBS Teaching Staff
Scott is married to Carla and they have three kids, Grace who is 8, Luke who is 3, and Isaac who is 1 year old. Scott did his SBS in Montana in 1994, later staffing 3 SBS's in Montana, leading one of them. He met his wife Carla there and moved on to England after getting married. Carla did her SBS there in England in 1998 while Scott was staffing her school. They then moved to Shelby, NC where Carla's family resides after leaving YWAM. For the past two years Scott has been guest lecturing at the ESBS and this past summer decided to move up to Lake Lure to join the ESBS team full time. Scott is originally from Ontario, Canada... though he grew up in YWAM and spent many of his childhood years bouncing between Canada and Hawaii.
