Emmaus School of Biblical Studies

ESBS Curriculum

2008 - 2009 Information
Curriculum Overview

The Emmaus School’s curriculum is based on the inductive method of Bible study and is modeled closely after YWAM’s SBS (www.sbsinternational.org). Inductive study seeks to set aside all pre-conceived ideas and interpret the text in light of the historical background, as well as the original author and audience. Our goal is for ESBS students to encounter Jesus and the timeless truths of God’s Word, applying these truths to their lives and the world around them.

While ESBS is a challenging course, it is designed for students of all types. Anyone who is hungry for God’s word and willing to work hard at studying the Bible should consider applying. During this nine month course, students will read the entire Bible book by book, reading each book multiple times while employing various study techniques. The ESBS teaching staff will provide lectures and study resources for students as they work through each book, in addition to answering student questions and facilitating discussions outside of class.

At the end of this nine month course, students will leave Emmaus School with a big-picture understanding of the entire Bible and with a clear, biblical perspective of God’s plan of redemption through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross – the focal point of all Scripture.
