Camp Lurecrest is a special place where children have a unique opportunity to experience God's creation in a safe, loving and adventure filled setting. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Camp Lurecrest endeavors to facilitate the camper/counselor relationship as our primary means of nurturing an atmosphere where campers' hearts are captured and strengthened by Jesus Christ. Therefore, the majority of our activities are cabin-oriented.
Our cabins sleep 14-18 people, two of which are counselors, as well as at least one other staff member. Restrooms and showers are located in each cabin and there is a nurse on the campground around the clock. During the camp day, cabin access is supervised by the camper's counselor.
There are three scheduled, activity periods daily (check out our detailed list of Camp Activities): A cabin activity in the morning; a time for rest during "Cabin Corners" after lunch and free time in the afternoon when campers can “hang-out” with their counselors and friends at the ceramics shop, the Ranch House, the volleyball court, the new basketball court, or the pool. Activities at the lakefront are organized by cabin and supervised by a full staff of lifeguards and our lakefront director.
The days begin and end with dynamic chapel services. Chapels include skits, multimedia presentations, wonderful worship, and relevant, teachable, Christ-centered messages from one of our camp pastors. After evening chapel, campers enjoy a snack time and wind down with cabin devotions before "lights-out" and a good night’s sleep. |
